Corey Michael Cott is an American actor and musician who was born on March 30, 1990. The eldest of Rick Cott’s three children and a former fighter pilot in the Air Force, Cott was born in Columbus, Mississippi. Corey Cott grew raised in Spring Arbor, Michigan, and Chagrin Falls, Ohio, where he attended Chagrin Falls High School. He is the elder brother of actor Casey Cott. He obtained his degree from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s Carnegie Mellon School of Drama after finishing high school.

While a student at Carnegie Mellon, Cott started his acting career by securing performances with Pittsburgh CLO, a renowned theatrical group. He played parts in their performances of Jesus Christ Superstar, Jekyll and Hyde, and Miss Saigon. Cott soon after moving to New York City after earning his degree from Carnegie Mellon University. Soon after, he secured the part of Jack Kelly’s backup in the Broadway production of Newsies. On September 5, 2012, he permanently assumed that position.

Cott had a childhood with fellow Newsies co-star Ben Fankhauser. Together, they appeared in several regional youth theatre shows.
