Rachel Skartsten is a Canadian Actress and Producer. She was born on  April 23, 1985 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Rachel is best known for her role as Dinah Lance in the television series Birds of Prey, Beth Kane/Alice in Batwoman, Tamsin in Lost Girl, and Elizabeth of England in the series Reign.

In 2014, Hallmark Channel hired Rachel Skarsten for the movie In My Dreams. It was her first Hallmark Movie, where she worked with a famous Hallmark actor Mike Vogel. People really liked her character Jessa in the movie.

After that she has worked in three Hallmark Movies such as Marry Me at Christmas, Timeless Love and The Royal Nanny.

Early life, Family, and Relationship

Rachel was born in Toronto to Stan Skartsen and Mary Aileen Self. Her father is Norwegian and her mother is of English descent, she has a younger brother Jonathan Skartsen.

She has also danced for the Royal Academy of Dance for nearly 12 years and she got her Elementary distinction in the year 1999.

After she got an ankle injury she was forced by her body condition and gave up dancing and went for sports. Rachel played female hockey as a goalie for Leaside Wildcats in Toronto in the year 2002 and she also won Toronto City Championships.

She got trained in the Royal Academy of Dance for twelve years and as for schooling, she went to Claude Watson School for the Arts from grade 4 to 8the grade. She has majored in cello and the visual arts and she also continued in the Claude Watson Arts Program at Earl Haig Secondary School from grades 9 to 12th grade with a major in visual arts.

When she was at her father’s memorial she was seen by an agent and she went on in regular show casts. She got into shows like Little Men and also had a big break in the Warner Brothers television series Birds of Prey.

Rachel Skarsten got married her boyfriend Alexandre Robicquet  on May 12, 2020.

Career, Struggle, Turning Point, and Success

After wrapping movies, she left Los Angeles and came back to Canada where she got a double degree at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario completing her studies in English Literature and Classical Studies. After that, she came back to acting with arcs on The Listener, Flashpoint, and LA Complex and worked in Canadian independents such as Servitude and Two Hands of Mouth.

In Fifty Shades of Grey, she acted as Andrea and she also appears in the Batwoman television series as Alice / Beth Kane, the main antagonist of the series.

She has represented the role of Tamsin in Lost Girl, a supernatural crime drama television series between the years 2010-2016. She also got Queen Elizabeth I in the CW series  Reign and she was also acting in Rachel, representing the role of Tamsin in Aaron Sorkin’s Molly’s Game in the year 2017.
