Shannon Xiao Lóng Kook-Chun is a South African actor and voice-over artist. He is well-known for his role as Zane Park in Degrassi: The Next Generation and as Drew Thomas in The Conjuring film series.

Kook’s first Hallmark movie A Big Fat Family Christmas will be released on December 2, 2022. The film is about Liv, a photojournalist who wants to make it herself. Her dream assignment is to cover the story of the Chang family’s annual holiday party.

But she doesn’t reveal the fact that they are her family! She becomes close to Henry, one of her coworkers who is also covering the story with her. Liv wants to confide in Henry but she also doesn’t want to jeopardize her big break. The actors include Shannon Chan-Kent, Jack Wagner, Tia Carrere, Ryan Mah, Emily Leung, Lillian Lim, and Yee Jee Tso. Kook has also appeared in the television film Holidaze.

Kook was born on February 9, 1987, in Johannesburg, South Africa. His father is of Chinese descent and his mother is a South African of Cape Colored descent. After completing school, he moved to Montreal to study acting at the National Theatre School of Canada.

After graduating from acting school, Kook landed his first television series, Being Erica in 2009. In this CBC comedy series, he played the role of Kendrick Kwan. He has also appeared in other television series like The Border, Cra$h & Burn, Durham County, Aaron Stone, Rookie Blue, XII: The Series, Private Eyes, Thornwood Heights, Shadowhunters, Impulse, Woke, Nancy Drew, and The Mysterious Benedict Society.

From 2010 to 2011, he played the role of Zane Park in Degrassi: The Next Generation. He played the role of Deven Philips in the comedy series Baxter from 2010 to 2011. He played the role of Theo Straka in the Canadian single-frame web series Carmilla from 2015 to 2016. Kook played the role of Jordan Green in the American post-apocalyptic science fiction The 100 from 2018 to 2020.

Kook’s first film appearance was in the movie Verona in 2010.
