She grew up in a small-town environment and developed a love for music when she was young.

As a child, Jess performed in local events, sang in church choirs, and participated in radio singing competitions. She also took vocal lessons for about two years and continued developing her singing skills on her own.

Growing up, she was strongly influenced by Canadian country superstar Shania Twain. Jess has said that Shania’s music had a major influence on her style and inspired her as a young Canadian singer.

Education

Jess attended Brandon University, where she studied Criminal Justice. She had already spent about two years studying when she was offered a publishing contract.

At that point, she had to make an important decision about whether to continue her university education or pursue music as a full-time career. After discussions with her family, she chose to focus on music.

Marriage, Spouse, Husband, Boyfriend

Jess Moskaluke is married to Clayton Becker. The couple lives on a small farm in Rocanville, Saskatchewan. Jess has spoken about how much she values being close to her family and friends. Her busy music career requires a lot of travel, so she appreciates spending her time at home when she is not touring. She and her husband are also dog lovers and have rescued dogs named Nala and Blue.

Career, Struggle, Turning Point, and Success

Jess began attracting attention as a young performer through local competitions and performances. Her career started growing quickly after she received opportunities to perform in larger music events and work with professional songwriters and producers.

Her debut studio album, Light Up the Night, was released in 2014. The album included the hit “Cheap Wine and Cigarettes,” which became a major success and achieved Canadian Platinum status.

Jess continued releasing successful music, including “Take Me Home,” “Kiss Me Quiet,” “Drive Me Away,” and “Country Girls.” Her music combines traditional country influences with modern pop sounds.

In 2019, she performed at Australia’s C2C Music Festival, helping introduce her music to an international audience.

Turning Point

One of the biggest turning points in Jess’s career came with the success of “Cheap Wine and Cigarettes.” The song helped establish her as a major name in Canadian country music and made her the first Canadian female country artist since Shania Twain to achieve Canadian Platinum single status at the time.

Another major milestone came with “Country Girls,” which became her first No. 1 song on the Canadian country chart.

Struggle and Success

Jess’s path to success was not completely easy. One of her early challenges was balancing university studies with her growing music career. Her family initially had concerns about her leaving her studies to pursue music full-time because the career was uncertain.

Touring has also brought challenges. Jess has explained that frequent travel means spending time away from her husband, family, friends, and dogs. She has described the lack of a regular routine as one of the difficult parts of being a touring musician.

Her determination eventually brought major recognition. She won the 2017 JUNO Award for Country Album of the Year and became a three-time consecutive winner of the CCMA Female Artist of the Year award. She also won the 2018 CCMA Album of the Year award for Past the Past.

Interesting Facts About Jess Moskaluke

- Jess Moskaluke was born in Langenburg, Canada on June 4, 1990 (age 32).
