Chris Redd is an American comedian and actor. He is well-known for his works which includes, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping in the year of 2016, Joker 2019 and he was also in Saturday Night Live in the year of 1975. He has also been a cast member in the SNL aka Saturday Night live from the year of 2017 till 2022.

Chris Redd has earned a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics in the year 2018 for being on the show where he co-wrote the song Come Back Barack. He has also done other works like Disjointed from 2017 till the year of 2018 and also in Kenan from the year 2021 to 2022.

Christopher Jerell Redd is the birth name of Chris Redd. He was born on march 25, 1985 and was born in St. Louis, Missouri later he moved to Naperville which is a suburb of Chicago when he was eight.

He thinks that he has a childhood stutter which he overcame by learning how to rap. Chris Redd went to Naperville schools and including Gregory Middle School and Neuqua Valley High School. He also went to a community college in Elgin, Illinois and that’s where he had his first improvisational theater class.

Success and career

Chris Redd had been a rapper for a short period and later changed to sketch comedy as he realized that he had fun with improvisational comedy and also he has comedy classes in Jokes & Notes which is a closed comedy club in Chicago. He has also joined the comedy group, The Second City and was also a member of its touring company. Chris Redd left for LA in the year of 2016 to become an actor professionally.

He made his very first debut in Hunter and the Hungry, an underground rapper.  In the year of 2016 his mockumentary Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping and also co-starred in the Netflix comedy series Disjointed in which he played the role of Dank who was a stoner.

He had an unsuccessful audition for SNL and it was also announced in the Sep of 2017 that Chris Redd did join the show’s cast being a featured player for season 43 with the fellow newcomers Heidi Gardener and Luke Null. He had his own ups and downs and yet he had stood his ground and had his way.
