Alison was born in Buckinghamshire, England, and was educated in Surrey. Her early working life began when she was just 16 years old. She first worked in the public affairs department of Shell Centre in London before moving into publishing and advertising.

Her education was not in the proper traditional path and so she took jobs as soon as she was old enough to take jobs and also took a string of successful jobs which are obviously for starters.

As she got jobs she went to school at random and it became a bit late education for her age as she got more interested in jobs her career expanded and later she got dropped out of college.

She then got into college after her first child and got her degree. Apart from QVC, she has also done her presenting job on other TV channels like News Channels and Stations throughout her years in her career.

Alison was previously married to Stephen Rhodes, and they have three children together. The marriage later ended in divorce.

Alison began her career in public affairs before working in book publishing and advertising. She later discovered broadcasting through voice-over work and radio. She presented a daily chat show on BBC local radio before moving into television.

She became a presenter on ITV’s This Morning, where she worked as a stand-in presenter for several years.
