Ego was of Nigerian heritage. She graduated from the Eastern Technical High School in Essex, Maryland, in Baltimore County in the year of 2006. She got her biology degree from the University of Southern California. Ego Nwodim made up her mind to start pursuing comedy as her career and it all began with the classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (UCB) in Los Angeles.
