Her parents got divorced when she was two years old. She has a half-sister, actress and comedian Sommore.
Long attended Paseo Del Rey Elementary School in Playa Del Rey and later attended St. Mary’s Academy in Inglewood, California. She graduated from Westchester High School, Los Angeles in 1989. While studying in school, she also learned ballet, jazz, tap, gymnastics, guitar, and acting.
