Story of the Hallmark Movie Sweeter Than Chocolate

Lucy Sweet (Eloise Mumford) is a chocolatier who owns a chocolate shop. She is rumored to have the secret recipe to finding true love on Valentine’s Day (February 14). The legend is that eating one of Lucy’s special Cupid chocolates on February 14th leads to finding true love.

The rumor reaches far and wide. This intrigues a local TV reporter, Dean Chase (Dan Jeannotte), who is determined to debunk the local legend. When Lucy hears about the reporter trying to investigate the rumor, she reluctantly agrees to take part in his investigative research as she doesn’t want anything to threaten her chocolate shop.

Lucy joins Dean in interviewing couples who swear that they have fallen in love due to Lucy’s chocolates. As he interviews the couples, Deans learns more about Lucy.

Both Lucy and Dean have had their fair share of heartbreaks before. But Lucy still believes in the power of love, while Dean has lost faith in it. Spending time with Lucy makes Dean think if his take on love is completely wrong.

When Dean’s boss gets to know about the story, she gets excited and encourages him to develop the story and insists he does a live feed from the chocolate shop on Valentine’s Day, while trying one of Lucy’s Cupid chocolates himself.

When people get to know about it, interest builds among the towns’ people. Meanwhile, one of Lucy’s happy couples ends in disaster and she begins to wonder if Dean has been right all along.

She begins to think if she has misled everyone with naïve faith. She gives up hope and when she is ready to admit her defeat, Dean comes to the rescue convincing her that bringing more couples together in love is a good thing even if there might be some heartaches along the way.

Eloise Mumford is an American actress known for her roles in television and films. Some of her well-known performances in television series are The River, Lone Star, and The Right Stuff.

Mumford was born on September 24, 1986, in Olympia, Washington, United States. Her parents are Tom Mumford and Nancy Smith. She has two siblings – Kai Mumford, and Anna Mumford and she is the middle child. Mumford spent her entire childhood in Olympia. She was home-schooled till her fifth grade.
