Raj Bhusan Mahato (Raj B M) was born in Campbell Bay, a small and remote town in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Growing up amidst the natural beauty of the islands, he developed a deep appreciation for his homeland and the opportunities it offered. His early years were shaped by the simplicity of island life, which later inspired his entrepreneurial spirit and determination to create opportunities for himself and others.
Education
Raj B M completed his schooling at Government Senior Secondary School, Campbell Bay. With a desire to pursue higher education and explore opportunities beyond the islands, he moved to Bangalore. Living away from home introduced him to a broader world of ideas, experiences, and professional possibilities that would later influence his career choices.
Teaching Career
After completing his education, Raj began his professional journey as a teacher in a private school. Teaching helped him develop communication, leadership, and mentoring skills. While he enjoyed guiding students, he soon realized that he wanted to explore larger opportunities and challenge himself in new fields.
Tourism Career
Seeking a dynamic career with greater scope for growth, Raj entered the tourism industry as a Tour Coordinator. His dedication, organizational abilities, and understanding of customer needs quickly earned him recognition within the industry. Over time, he was promoted to Tour Manager, where he gained valuable experience in travel planning, customer relations, and destination management.
Working closely with travelers gave him a deeper understanding of tourism and strengthened his belief that the Andaman Islands had immense potential as a world-class travel destination.
Entrepreneurship
Driven by a shared passion for tourism and entrepreneurship, Raj Bhusan Mahato and Mr. Manivannan co-founded Info India Tour and Holidays Pvt. Ltd. in 2017. Combining their complementary strengths, they set out to build a company dedicated to helping travelers discover the beauty, culture, and unique experiences of the Andaman Islands.
While Raj B M brought years of hands-on experience in the tourism industry, Mr. Manivannan contributed his expertise in technology and operations. An LG Award recipient for his achievements in technical support, Manivannan played a key role in strengthening the company’s technological foundation. Together, they worked as equal partners, transforming their vision into a growing travel enterprise.
The company was established with the goal of providing reliable, personalized, and memorable travel experiences for visitors to the Andaman Islands. Through dedication, innovation, and customer-focused service, the co-founders steadily expanded their presence in the tourism sector.
As the business grew, Raj relocated to Chennai in 2019 and established a branch office to improve connectivity, enhance operational efficiency, and support the company’s long-term expansion plans.
The COVID-19 Challenge
Like many entrepreneurs in the travel industry, Raj faced one of the biggest challenges of his career when the COVID-19 pandemic brought global tourism to a standstill in 2020. The crisis severely impacted travel businesses worldwide and forced many entrepreneurs to rethink their future.
Instead of viewing the situation as a setback, Raj saw it as an opportunity to learn, adapt, and diversify his skills.
Blogging and Finance
During the lockdown period, Raj entered the world of blogging and digital publishing. He successfully developed two blogs—one focused on a domestic audience and another targeting a global niche market. These ventures helped him understand digital marketing, content creation, and online business models.
At the same time, his curiosity about financial markets led him to explore trading, investing, and wealth creation. Determined to deepen his understanding of finance, he spent years studying market behavior and investment strategies.
To share his experiences and help newcomers avoid common mistakes, he launched the YouTube channel “Islands Trader.” Through educational content, he aimed to simplify financial concepts and encourage responsible investing among beginners.
In 2026, Raj became an AMFI-Registered Mutual Fund Distributor, marking an important milestone in his financial services journey. He later expanded into insurance advisory, enabling him to provide clients with holistic financial solutions covering investments, protection, and long-term financial planning.
Current Work
Today, Raj Bhusan Mahato works as a Financial, Digital, and Travel Consultant. Through his experience across tourism, entrepreneurship, blogging, investing, mutual funds, and insurance, he helps individuals and businesses make informed decisions and achieve their goals.
He continues to manage and support ventures in the travel and financial sectors while remaining committed to educating people about wealth creation, financial planning, and smart decision-making.
