Josie Maran was born in Menlo Park, California. Josie has a Russian Jewish descent from her father’s side and as for her schooling she attended Castilleja School which is an all-girls school in Palo Alto, California. She was there from grade six till twelfth.
Josie Maran got married to an Iranian-American photographer Ali Alborzi. They have two daughters who are Rumi Joon & Indi Joon. Rumi was born on 20th June 2006 whereas Indi was on 1st July 2012.

Josie had everything started just when she was in high school as she was approached by a woman for a modeling performance in San Francisco and also a scouting agent encouraged her to go on in modeling professionally. She has her first cover of Glamour in 1998.
In the year of 1990, she had an appendectomy which left her with a visible scar that was typically edited out of photos. She was signed at the age of seventeen with the Elite modeling agency of Los Angeles and she appeared on her very first cover with the magazine Glamour in the year 1998 she later featured as Girl in their summer 1998 and fall 1998 campaigns.
