Mizero Ncuti Gatwa is the full name of the Doctor Who famous Ncuti Gatwa. Ncuti Gatwa is a Rwandan-Scottish actor. Ncuti is also known for  Sex Education in the year of 2019, The Last Letter from Your Lover in the year of  2021 and Doctor Who in the year of 2005.

He got his breakthrough in the Netflix comedy-drama series Sex Education from 2019 till present as Eric Effiong and he also got BAFTA Scotland Award for Best Actor in Television. It’s not just that but three BAFTA Television Award nominations for Best Male Comedy Performance. Ncuti Gatwa was announced as the Doctor on the BBC series Doctor Who in the year of 2022 and that made him the first black actor to lead the series.

Early life, Family and Relationship

Ncuti Gatwa was born on 15th October of 1992 and was born in Nyarugenge, Kigali, Rwanda. His father is Tharcisse Gatwa who is from Karongi district of Rwanda. He is a journalist with a PhD in theology.

Ncuti’s family escaped from their place during the Rwandan genocide against the Tutsi in 1994 and later settled in Scotland. They were living in Edinburgh and Dunfermline.

Education

He went to Boroughmuir High School and Dunfermline High School prior to them moving to Glasgow to study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Ncuti Gatwa graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Acting in 2013. He was honoured with Doctorate at the class of 2022 graduation ceremony by, The Conservatoire.

Mizero Ncuti Gatwa’s Success and career

Ncuti after completing his graduation, he was given a position in the Dundee Repertory Theatre acting he acted in quite a number of productions which includes the, David Greig’s Victoria. He got a small role in the year 2014 which is a sitcom, Bob Servant and that was set to be filmed in the Dundee.

In the year of 2014, he received a Commendation at the Ian Charleson Awards for his 2014 performance of Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet Home, Manchester.

The next year 2015 he acted in Stonemouth a miniseries,  he appeared in a supporting role which is actually an adaptation of a novel of the same name. Later that very year, he was performing in the Kneehigh Theatre’s production of 946.

This was adapted from The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips about the rehearsals for the D-Day landing in Devon with numerous fatalities. The author of it was Michael Morpurgo. Ncuti Gatwa was playing Demetrius in the 2016 production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Shakespeare’s Globe directed by Emma Rice in the year of 2019.
