His movie roles also include Love & Basketball, Juice, In Too Deep, Higher Learning, and The Wood.

Omar Epps was born on 20th July 1973 and was born in Brooklyn, New York, USA. His birth name is Omar Hashim Epps. His parents got divorced in his childhood and grew up with his mother Bonnie Maria Epps who was an elementary school principal.

He was living in Brooklyn neighborhoods as grew up which are Bedford-Stuyvesant, East New York, and East Flatbush. Prior to acting, he belonged to a rap gang called Wolfpack in which he was with his cousin. Actually, it was formed by him and his cousin in the year of 1991.

He started to write poetry, songs, and short stories at the age of ten and went to Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.
