Bowen Yang is an American actor, comedian, writer, and podcaster who was actually born in Australia and based in New York. Yang also co-hosts a comedy pop-culture podcast named, Las Culturistas with Matt Rogers.

He has been one of the writing staff of SNL which is Saturday Night Live since the September of 2018. Bowen was also promoted as the on-air cast member in SNL’s 45th season as a featured player in the Sep of 2019 and became the first, Chinese-American, fourth cast member of Asian descent, and the third openly gay male. He was also promoted to the main cast even before that the 47th season.

Early life, Family, and Relationship

Bowen Yang, the American actor was born on 6th November 1990 and was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Their family had emigrated from China in the 1980s where his father was raised in the rural area of the Inner part of the Mongolia region of mainland China where he grew up in a straw and mud hut.

His grandparents were illiterate; though his father read books for a long time and also got to go to a university which is a rare one as it was soon after the Cultural Revolution between the years of 1996 till 1976 which in turn led to the universities to shut down. Bowen Yang’s mother is an obstetrician-gynecologist. and when his parents left for Brisbane, his father earned his doctorate in mining explosives.

They usually speak Mandarin at home & also attended Chinese Sunday school. When Bowen was six months old their family moved to Canada and later settled in Montreal. When he was a nine-year-old they again moved from Montreal to Aurora in Colorado and as a child, he was all eyes on late-night comedians and also the hosts like Conan O’Brien & David Letterman.

Bowen Yang’s Success and career

Bowen had learned by himself and was good at Adobe Photoshop, a Graphic designing software, and while he was designing in the One Kings Lane which is a luxury interior and home design website between the years 2013 till 2018. This very company was woman-centered and so was very flexible with Yang’s time-off needs for comedy. Bowen was in the improv team, Dangerbox. He has performed improv on the Upright Citizens Brigade.
