David  Brewster Jr.., better known as Dave East, is an American rapper. He rose to prominence in 2014 with his mixtape ‘Black Rose.’ East grew up in Harlem, New York, and was always interested in music. He went to Springbook High School and then the University of Richmond.

His musical career started in 2010 with the mixtape ‘Change of Plans.’ He kept releasing mixtapes like ‘Insomnia’ and ‘No Regrets.’ Success, on the other hand, did not come easy to him. On June 3, 1988, David Brewster, Jr. was born in Harlem, New York. He is of Creole, Bajan, and Dominican ancestry. He went to Springbrook High School and played basketball there. Dave eventually joined the Amateur Athletic Union, where he played alongside future NBA players like Ty Lawson, Greivis Vasquez, and Kevin Durant.

He then attended the University of Richmond before transferring to Towson University. In terms of family, he has a daughter named Kairi Chanel, born in 2016. In December 2017, he began dating American singer Kehlani. Dave East has stated that while incarcerated, he converted to Islam. He believes it has instilled a great deal of discipline in his life.

His career and popularity expanded when his following mixtape, ‘Kairi Chanel,’ debuted at number 38 on the US Billboard 200. It also included 2 Chainz, Sevyn Streeter, Fabolous, and Beanie Sigel as guests. In 2017, he released his EP ‘Paranoia: A True Story.’ It was his most successful effort, ranking at number nine on the US Billboard 200. Nas, Wiz Khalifa, French Montana, and Chris Brown all made appearances. The following year, he released a mixtape titled ‘Karma.’

In 2018, his EP ‘Paranoia 2’ was published. Tory Lanes, Llyod Banks, TI, Bino Rideaux, Matt Patterson, and Marsha Ambrosius all made appearances. It debuted at 61st on the Billboard 200 in the United States. It received largely good feedback.
