Durance started her career with a small role in the TV series The Lone Gunmen in 2001. Later she worked in the movie Untold in 2002, where she worked as Tara Knowles.

Hallmark Channel hired Erica Durance for the movie Wedding Planner Mystery in 2014. Which was her first Hallmark movie, where she worked with popular actor Andrew W. Walker.

Durance was born on June 21, 1978, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Her parents are Gail Durance and Joel Durance. She grew up on a turkey farm with her brother and sister in Three Hills. As a child, she was trained as a classical singer.

In 1999, she graduated from high school and moved to Vancouver to pursue her interest in acting professionally. She studied acting at the Yaletown Actors Studio.

In 2005, she married her coach, David Palffy. In February 2015, she gave birth to a baby boy; in 2016, she gave birth to her second son. She currently resides with her family in Vancouver, British Columbia.
