Early Life

Garth was conceived by John and Carolyn Garth in Urbana, Illinois. Garth, the only child of their union and the youngest of seven children, spent much of her formative years on a 25-acre horse ranch between Sadorus and Arcola, Illinois. When Garth was around 13 years old, the family finally moved to Glendale, Arizona after living in Tuscola, Illinois for a while. Randy James, a scout and manager for Hollywood, quickly saw her at a local talent competition when she was studying dance and modelling.

In her freshman year, she enrolled in Greenway High School, and in her sophomore year, she moved to Apollo High School. Garth, who was adamant about becoming an actor, would get audition materials from Los Angeles, which she would work on with a nearby acting instructor named Jean Fowler. After working in Los Angeles with James during her junior year of high school, she stopped attending class to finish her high school education there.

Career and Hallmark Movies

With her portrayal of Kelly Taylor on Beverly Hills, 90210, Jennie Garth shot to fame. The programme was a ratings powerhouse that ran for ten seasons and is now regarded as one of the most popular and recognisable programmes ever made for television.

The Jennie Garth Project, a ten-part HGTV series that followed Jennie as she manually planned and rebuilt a dated Hollywood Hills house, featured Jennie’s expertise as an ardent designer, DIYer, and decorator.

Also in 2014, Jennie collaborated once again with Tori Spelling, a fellow 90210 alum, as a star and executive producer of the ABC Family comedy series Mystery Girls. The programme follows two former detective TV show stars as they launch a firm to investigate murders in the real world.

In the WB’s What I Like About You in 2002, Jennie made her comic debut as Amanda Bynes’s proper sister. After airing for four seasons, the show was cancelled in 2006. In addition, Jennie has appeared in a number of popular television programmes and motion pictures over the years, such as the 2013 ABC Family holiday comedy Holidaze, the 2012 Lifetime movie The Eleventh Victim (based on the best-selling book by Nancy Grace), the 2012 reality series A Little Bit Country for CMT, the 2007 season of Dancing with the Stars (where she advanced to the semi-finals), Girl Positive, Accidentally in Love, and A Christmas Tail, to name a few. Jennie published her debut book, Deep Thoughts From a Hollywood Blonde, in 2014. It was released by New American Library (NAL), a branch of Penguin Group (USA),

Having served as the national spokeswoman for the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign and more recently via her work in support of The Heart Foundation, Jennie has long been a champion for heart health. The goal of the Heart Foundation is to save lives by raising awareness of heart disease, encouraging early identification, and funding the work of renowned cardiologist Dr. P.K. Shah. In addition, Jennie supports Water4, Kids Vision for Life, Stand Up To Cancer, and Feeding America.

Not So Dumb Blonde is a media firm that produces both scripted and unscripted programmes, and it was just founded by Jennie in collaboration with Emmy Award-winning producer Bryan Scott. Luca Bella, Lola Ray, and Fiona Eve, three of Jennie’s kids, as well as Jennie and her husband, Dave Abrams, presently live in Los Angeles.
