Early Life, Family, and Relationship

Rodriguez was raised in California’s Orange County. After participating in cheering in middle school, she started taking dance classes when she was 13 years old. After visiting New York and attending eight Broadway productions, Rodriguez realised that actors and dancers needed to be able to sing and act in addition to dancing, so she started taking acting and singing lessons when she got home. From 1995 until 2000, she was a cast member of the Christian television programme Colby’s Clubhouse.

She attended Orange County High School of the Arts, where she performed in numerous lead roles, such as Marian in The Music Man and the title role in Gidget: The Musical, a musical that Francis Ford Coppola co-wrote and directed and that featured Orange County High School of the Arts students during its (ultimately unsuccessful) tryouts in 2000.

She spent a few years studying at New York University, but shortly after she enrolled, she started working. Regarding her schooling, Rodriguez remarked, “Despite my desire to graduate, I was not given the chance since I had already begun working. So…no degree in musical theatre, but a respectable career thus far.”
