Matthew Scott Porter, professionally known as Scott Porter is an American actor and singer. He is best known for his role as Jason Street in the television drama Friday Night Lights.
Porter has appeared in one Hallmark movie so far. In 2021, he appeared in the Hallmark movie Taking the Reins, in which he played the role of Luke Travers. The movie is about Samantha Barclay (Nikki Deloach), a writer, who goes back to the family ranch to write an article about her passion for horses.
During her time at the ranch, she discovers what ended her marriage and why she stopped riding horses. Porter has also appeared in another television film called Master Work in which he played the role of Sean Fetters.

Porter was born on July 14, 1979, in Omaha, Nebraska, United States. His parents are Butch Porter and Robin Porter. He has two siblings – a younger brother (Brendan Porter) and a younger sister (Ariana Porter).
He attended Lake Howell High School in Winter Park, Florida. During high school, he was a wide receiver on the football team. Porter graduated from high school in 1997 and went to the University of Central Florida. He sang vocal percussion in an acapella vocal group. He also worked as a babysitter.
In April 2013, he married Kelsey Mayfield, a casting director whom he met on the set of Friday Night Lights. The couple has two children – a son (McCoy Lee) born in May 2015 and a daughter (Clover Ash) born in August 2017.
