The Hallmark series The Way Home is a family drama about three generations of strong and independent women who embark on an enlightening and surprising journey. 

The story revolves around three women – Kat Landry (Chyler Leigh), her daughter Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow), and Kat’s mother Del (Andie MacDowell).  Two decades ago, due to some life-changing events, Kat had to move away from her small Canadian farm town of Port Haven, New Brunswick. Since the move, she remains estranged from her mother Del. 

Kat’s 15-year-old daughter Alice has never met her grandmother and she is clueless about the reasons for their fractured family. Kat goes through a rough patch – her marriage is coming to an end and she’s also being laid off from her job. When Kat feels like she’s hit rock bottom, she receives an unexpected letter from Del asking her to return home. 

Kat takes the letter from her mother as a silver lining though she is not so thrilled about it. Kat and her daughter move Alice to their family’s farm. The reunion after two decades does not go the way Kat envisioned! 

After the move, Kat also reunited with her good friend from high school, Elliot Augustine (Evan Williams), who now works as a Science teacher at their alma mater. Elliot always had a crush on Kat and when they both meet after 20 years, the unexpressed feelings still lurk just under the surface. Elliot also happens to be Alice’s Science teacher.

Alice slowly starts to learn the truth about her family’s past! As the trio – Kat, Alice, and Del try their best to work on finding their footing as a family, they embark on an eye-opening journey. The trio’s journey was so surprising that none of them could have imagined as they learn how to find their way back to each other.
