Zoe also had two sisters. Sadly their father has passed away when she was celebrating her ninth birthday due to a vehicle wreck and her mother along with them left for the Dominican Republic. She has once stated that with respect to her racial identity, “There’s no one way to be black. I’m black the way I know how to be.” She was raised by her stepfather Dagoberto Galan after her father’s demise. As her father was a Dominican and her mother was a Puerto Rican, SHe has once stated in an interview that she is 3/4 Dominican and 1/4 Puerto Rican.
