In Kolkata, West Bengal she was born on 13 December 1980. Her parent’s name is Santu Mukherjee & Gopa Mukherjee. She belongs to a Bengali Hindu Brahmin family. Her sister Ajopa Mukherjee, who is a costume designer in Bengali cinema. In 1998 she was married to Pramit Sen (son of singer Sagar Sen). But, they separated in 2000, and divorce in 2007. Mukherjee completed her school life at Carmel School, Kolkata, St. Teresa’s Secondary School, and Gokhale Memorial School. After divorce, she became successful in her acting career., Anwesha, her only daughter born in 2000.
