Mekhi Phifer started it all with an audition at an open casting call for director Spike Lee’s Clockers in the year 1995 and also was selected for the lead role in it working with Harvey Keitel and Delroy Lindo he had critical recognition.
He is known for his compelling performance as Strike a young New Jersey drug dealer who is involved in a murder cover-up and his impressive screen debut had shown him in the comedy spoof High School High in the year 1996. Then, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer in the year 1998 which is a Columbia/Tristar thriller. He co-starred with Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. He also starred in Soul Food in the year of 1997.
