Early life, Family and Relationship
Dave King was raised in a small two-room flat in Beggars Bush in Dublin tenement which has once been the part of Beggars Bush Barracks. He got his own guitar when he was six or seven years old by age.
Dave King’s father died when he was a ten years old boy. He moved to Dublin when he was in his twenties and he was residing in London for a short time then he went to Los Angeles where he first joined Fastway and later formed the band Flogging Molly with his guys Ted Hutt, Jeff Peters, and Bridget Regan. After he emigrated to the United States he was living there without a Green card for eight whole years.
He wasn’t able to visit his family in Ireland during this entire time of fear that immigration laws might prevent his return to the US. The lyrics of his songs when in Flogging Molly during this separation from his mother was contributed by this very missing. He was married to his own band mare Bridget Regan. These two got married in Tokyo, Japan while on a tour in the year of 2008. He is an avid supporter of Manchester United and has also got the club logo tattoo on his chest.

Dave King’s professional career started in the early 1980s when he was hired as the vocalist of Fastway an English hard rock band formed by the ex-Motorhead guitarist Fast Eddie Clarke and ex-UFO bassist Pete Way in the year 1983. They have recorded their first four records with King on vocals and as well as a live record.
On the time when Fastway was disbanded Dave King formed Katmandu with Mandy Meyer who was the former member of the band Krokus and Mike Alonso who was the former member of Detroit-based band Speedball and who released a self-titled album. This band had two minor hits but also disbanded in future.
